Dear Edenton Resident or Family Member:

This morning, I received information that a second employee, the first staff person at Orchard Terrace tested positive for the virus. Each responsible party for the Orchard Terrace resident was notified by phone this morning. At this time, we do not have any Residents who are exhibiting any symptoms.

We continue to work in accordance with and cooperating with State and local Health Department protocols and required communications. I continue to report to and communicate with the Health Dept nurse assigned to us daily any changes with our staff or residents. All staff members continue to wear appropriate protective items when necessaiy and all staff continue to wear masks at all times. This will likely continue for many months to come.

All screening measures remain in effect. Residents in assisted living continue to be screened for symptoms and their temperatures taken every shift, every day and recorded for review by the nurses. We also screen and temperature check, independent living residents if they receive companion services. If there is any change, we will continue to notify a family member immediately.

Visits are still restricted. Your supplies and deliveries should continue to be dropped at the entrance, will be sanitized and then brought into the resident.

Yesterday, Governor Hogan also implemented a change in the reporting of cases in long term cai·e facilities. As of last evening, the Maryland Dept of Health website is listing by county facilities with any positive cases. Edenton is listed with one case as I repo1ted last week. This repmt is supposed to be updated weekly. Here is the link should you wish to access this state information. https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/pages/hcf-resources

Please know that our entire Edenton team continues to work very hai·d every day to keep the Residents and each other cared for and protected. We continue to have enough PPE for our staff and I am using all resources available to keep the flow of supplies coming. If I can answer any question or provide you with additional information, please reach out to me or another member of our team.
