New Addition for Edenton

Dear Residents and Families,

We are pleased to announce a valuable addition to our community’s healthcare team through CounterPoint Health Services. Ramatou Harouna, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, will be taking over for Carrie Chase, who is no longer assigned to our community. This new addition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and high-quality mental health and wellness support for all our residents.

Introduction from Ramatou Harouna, PMHNP-BC, Counterpoint Health Services:

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with expertise in providing comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan. After gaining experience in acute and outpatient settings, I discovered a deep passion for psychogeriatrics and have since dedicated my career to serving the elderly population with the aim of providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in diverse environments, mainly assisted living facilities (ALF), skilled nursing facilities (SNF), and independent living (IL) communities.

My care approach emphasizes holistic treatment, patient-centered care, and collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams to enhance quality of life for older adults. Through my commitment to mental health advocacy and geriatric psychiatry I wish to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors, their caregivers and families.
