Tiarra Weedon Named Director of Health & Wellness
We are proud to announce that Tiarra Weedon, RN, BSN, a previous caregiver at Edenton, has returned after furthering her education and training to assume the role of Director of Health & Wellness. Tiarra earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Frostburg State University in 2021. She served as a Charge Nurse on the Advanced Cardiac Unit, then the Progressive Care Unit at Frederick Health Hospital gaining advanced clinical, operational and supervisory experience. Tiarra’s strong leadership skills continued to be recognized at Frederick Health Hospital with a promotion to Nurse Manager where she mentored her team, ensuring high standards of patient centered care. Her expertise includes leadership and team management, staff training and development, patient care coordination, compliance and regulatory standards, quality and performance improvement, conflict resolution and communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
This transition in leadership for our assisted living nursing department comes as Sandy Stevens, RN, announced her retirement. “We are very thankful for the wonderful service and leadership Sandy has provided over the last 25 years,” stated Jennifer Holmes, Executive Director, “We wish her the very best in retirement spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.”
Tiarra is happy to return to her long-term care roots with all the experience she gained to lead our team and support our nursing staff in providing the best care for our community. “Tiarra is a highly respected professional with a bright mind, a kind heart and a friendly nature. She has been welcomed back with open arms by previous co-workers and looks forward to meeting all our families,” said Holmes.
