Dear Residents, Family Members and Staff:

Late yesterday, the testing results were received from Orchard Terrace. All Orchard Terrace residents tested negative. One staff member tested positive.

We will be retesting next Tuesday. Mask wearing has been implemented in Orchard Terrace at this time. Residents should and staff must wear a mask. Two weeks of testing will be completed and stopped once we have two weeks of negative test results.

Frederick County still is experiencing covid outbreaks and also flu outbreaks in fairly high numbers. I am encouraging ALL residents and staff on campus to wear a mask. I can only require doing so in Orchard Terrace at this time but wearing a mask does reduce your risk for exposure and virus.

With the Thanksgiving holiday coming, it is important that you monitor your health and wellness. If you are not feeling well, quarantine, test and report your health to a nurse or your manager. In order to keep this virus controlled, symptomatic individuals must quarantine and isolate. We will still follow the required CDC guidance for residents and staff members.

Please use caution visiting with out of town guests or small children. Although the rates of transmission are in the substantial category, there are still people testing positive every day.

Visitors in AL will only be required to sign in and out. Visitors who want to dine with AL residents should inquire with the staff to make a reservation and ensure there is space in the dining room. Visitors may still go to the main dining room with guests for a meal.

Thank you for your continued understanding and patience as we continue to navigate the impact of Covid – 19. Going mask free is  a huge step forward and one that I hope we can maintain.

Be well,

RaeAnn Butler, Administrator
