RE:          Orchard Terrace has Covid cases

Dear Residents, Family Members and Staff:

Yesterday, a resident at Orchard Terrace tested positive for Covid. Today’s testing has resulted in several Residents on both floors testing positive. Some have some symptoms and others, at this time, do not. Family members of those residents have had communications and physicians are being consulted.

As you know, we just transitioned from mask wearing for the campus to optional mask wearing on Tuesday. Today, one OT staff member tested positive.

As a reminder, here are the protocols we will follow during this outbreak.

  1. A resident who tests positive will isolate in their room for 10 days. Any Resident who tests positive for the virus may still receive visitors who wear the proper PPE (supplied). Residents must be isolated for a minimum of 10 days.
  2. All staff, Residents and Visitors MUST wear a mask at all times when in Orchard Terrace.
  3. Visits must occur in the Resident room.
  4. I am suspending group activities in Orchard Terrace until next week.
  5. Assisted Living staff should be wearing a mask and residents encouraged as much as possible.

We will test again on day 3 (Saturday) and day 5 (Monday). Monitoring will continue for the next 14 days.

I would encourage IL residents to not visit the exercise room at OT.

Thank you for your continued understanding and patience as we continue to navigate the impact of Covid – 19 and other seasonal illnesses.

Be well,

RaeAnn Butler, Administrator
