Alzheimer’s Campus Walk is October 13

Did you know that currently 6 million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer’s Disease? Experts estimate this number will climb to as many as 16 million by 2050.

Edenton is doing it’s part in the fight against this disease. Our campus Alzheimer’s Walk will be held on Monday, October 13 at 3 p.m.

Our walk steps off from the breezeway next to the restaurant.

Please consider making a donation to Team Edenton Frederick to help in the fight against this terrible disease. Donations will also be accepted on the day of the walk. Thank you!

Please plan to join us the afternoon of October 13 as we stroll around our beautiful campus to support those living with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Annual Vaccine Clinics on Campus this Month

Residents and staff members can receive the annual influenza vaccine
and the current COVID vaccine from Whitesell’s Pharmacy this month.

  •  The influenza vaccine will be offered on Tuesday, October 7.
  • The COVID vaccine offered on campus on Tuesday, October 21

Page Turner’s Book Club

This month’s selection is The Women by Kristen Hannah.

Women can be heroes. When twenty year old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation.

When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Join us in the library at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 23 for this month’s book discussion.

We celebrate this month…

Fall still life with pumpkins and corn

Time for Tacos!

It’s time for some tacos. National Taco Day is celebrated annually on
the first Tuesday of October. This year the day falls on October 7.

Native American Day

Native American Day, also referred to as Indigenous Peoples’ Day, is
observed on the second Monday in October. So, on Monday, October 13 at 11 a.m., Fiddler’s Green will take an in depth look at some of the tribes and their culture.

Sweet Fall Fun at Orchard Terrace

October is bursting with festive fall happenings — think warm apple cider, fresh cider
donuts, gooey s’mores, and cozy afternoons on the patio as the leaves turn golden. It’s the perfect time to embrace the season, connect with friends, and enjoy all the flavors and fun that fall has to offer. Celebrate the season with us at Orchard Terrace!

On Saturday, October 11 at 1:30 p.m. we’re hosting a spook-tacular Cake Decorating Party — frosting, fun, and festive treats awaits!

…and so much more

Resident Spotlight

This month’s spotlight shines on one of our Blossom Place residents, Joan Fox. Joan was born
in Mobile, Alabama. Her family relocated to Pensacola, Florida, when she was a young child. She lived in Florida until she moved to Maryland in late 2023.

We are so glad Joan is a part of our community
