October in Independent Living at Edenton features the annual campus Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 12, the 3rd Annual Edenton Car Show on October 3 where the Golden Gears Car Club will be sharing their beautiful automobiles at the Manor House, and two craft making activities- Harriet Sampieri will be hosting a Halloween arts and crafts session on October 13 and Lori Himes from Abloom will lead a class creating seasonal flower decorated mini pumpkins on October 29. The Book club meets on October 22 for the book of the month discussion and Bayada is covering “Brain Health” on October 6 with a lecture at 10am. Variety, social connection, and community are what we fill our activities calendar with.
A special new program begins in October this year- Story Hour will feature residents reading stories to folks from the community- your kids and grandkids are invited.
